Lonar Lake: World's Oldest Meteorite Crater
Lonar Lake is a hyper-velocity meteorite impact crater located at Lonar in Buldhana district. It is the world's oldest meteorite crater in basalt rock and represents a scientific marvel.
The water inside the lake is both saline and alkaline, supporting unique micro-organisms not found elsewhere. A visit here is both educational and adventurous.
Distance and Travel Route from Aurangabad
The distance is approximately 115 km from Aurangabad. In normal highway conditions, the drive takes about 3 to 4 hours via NH 753A through Jalna and Deulgaon Raja.
The roads are generally good, but caution is recommended near the ghat sections close to Buldhana.

Standard Swift Dzire sedan fare is approximately ₹2,500 for a one-way transfer. For round trips, fares are calculated on per-kilometer basis (₹12/km).
